I want to go /out/ for like a week or so in Europe with some friends this summer. I live in Belgium so this is not the place for /out/ists, I've been thinking about driving to France (Alsace/Burgundy/Masif Central/Dordonge), parking the car and hiking with a tent. Buying our food every late noon in the local village, then setting up the tent somewhere near the water and preparing our meal, next time the same thing and so on. Problem is that wildcamping and campfires are not allowed in France. Does anyone know how willing French landlords are to let hikers stay on their land for a night, and if do make problems about the firemaking (which is not allowed after the first of july, not even on private property). Or should we just go to Poland where no one cares about wild camping and firemaking at all?
