This is my first year growing pole beans, for past 3 years I've grown bush beans. They are a lot more fun to pick than bush beans and I love the look of the thick viney block of foliage. Prefer most of the beans to be in reach while standing. Too bad I only used 4 foot tall fencing, next year I will give them at least 10 feet each to grow on vertically. Planted about 8 rows, 60 feet long each, a bean every few inches. There are so many beans I should be stocked for colder months. Also grew 4 rows of a similar width of bush bean and have gotten about 30 quarts of bush beans out of them
