You take light rail directly from the airport to Gresham (it’s two trains; you transfer from one to the other in downtown), then a bus from Gresham to Sandy, then a shuttle from Sandy to Timberline. These run about every 30 minutes from early morning until late at night.

The only thing stopping you is a lack of will, or money... but if you have gear it’s like $600 for a week long trip. You won’t find a cheaper vacation.
