The remington is chambered in .25-06, which shoots very flat. I am comfortable taking a shot at w whitetail out to 600 yards with it. The Rossi is in .44 magnum, which is a giant, flat nosed bullet that pierces through brush without going off target much. Very good in thicker woods where shots are under about 150yd. Lots of the spots I hunt, you are unlikely to get a shot further than like 60yd.
