Use circle hooks or octopus hooks, otherwise Gamakatsu and Bass Pro store brand both sell "Drop Shot Hooks". They sell special weights too specifically for drop shots but regular bell weights work fine.
The drop shots are cool because you can let the weight hit the bottom, you can twitch the rod tip a tiny bit and it will make the bait wiggle around and look really lifelike.
I have almost the same luck with Texas rigs but I can see why people like drop shots in certain situations.
