>>453567The Anglo saxons (i'm a big fan of their culture and society, which is why i want some turnshoes) and the vikings wore woolen trousers over linen undertrousers and wore leg bindings called winnegas which were wrapped around the leg. Shoes could have been waterproofed with beeswax or animal fats and oils, (i find leather is naturally good at dealing with water). So you've got wool socks, linen trousers, wool trousers, winnegas and leather turnshoes. Stepping in a big puddle or going in a stream or brook? your feet are going to get wet. Walking in the morning grass or on wet soil? you're fine. Anglo saxons went barefoot a lot of the time anyway.
