It was really hot (peak of summer) and I didn't have a good pair of boots at the time. I was walking along this path that I had walked barefoot about a hundred times, as it was near a spring that I swim in. I'm walking down this path just checking out the trees and shit when I look down mid stride and see that my foot is half a foot away from this big ass Diamondback Rattlesnake. I one leg hopped about twelve feet over it, shitting my pants mid fight.
Lesson learned, I always hike with boots and jeans.
