Any palm bros around?
I'm on a quest to find a pindo palm but the only local nursery that seems to carry them was out of stock.
I did acquire a queen palm which has a similar (though inferior) fruit.
Also a pygmy date palm (though I hear they're not really worth eating), and a majesty palm just because it was like twice the size of its peers for the same price, couldn't pass up such a vigorous and massive plant.
Are there any other good palm fruits than pindos and dates? I've seen some videos in jungle Asia where they grow massive palm fruits and eat the palm jelly from the seed, don't know what kind that is though or if it's available here in the US. Besides I'm in zone 8b so pindo is the only fruiting palm that's actually hardy here.
Pic is delicious pindo fruit tastes like a tropical apricot, very pineapple-ey with some mango-ish flavors. A mature palm will make literally hundreds of pounds of these guys in a season.
