>>1677667Lucid dreaming is dangerous because it can cause a person to be disillusioned with reality. They will prefer to stay asleep rather than be awake, and it can have serious consequences on their health. Dreaming also serves the purpose of letting our mind 'vent' during a resting state, hashing out daily stresses and thoughts in the process. Habitually inducing lucid dreaming prevents that from happening.
Lucid dreamers also inevitably run into the problem of having difficulty differentiating between dream and reality. Your dreams are comprised of your memories and experiences, and if you lucid dream too much, your subconscious will have an incrementally smaller pool of resources to pull from and become 'bored', eventually faithfully recreating your day to day life instead. This is hazardous for obvious reasons.
I know all this because I used to take astronomically high amounts of Gabapentin for peripheral nerve pain, and it would cause me to lucid dream every single fucking night.
