Finally picked up my first pipe, went to the cigar store set on a Missouri meerschaum cob and ended up picking up one of the Ozark hardwoods. I read afterwards these are generally considered not as good as the cobs, but it seems to smoke okay.
What I'm pissed about is the dude selling me an aromatic (David's Blend, seems to be Canada only) when I mentioned wanting to start with an English. It doesn't taste horrible, kinda just like musty cigar.
tldr: give me more tobacco recommendations. Stores here are sparse (I live in Quebec which has horrible tobacco selection) though I did just order a tin of Hearth and Home White Knight.
