Pumpkin update. Running out of time, but they seem to be steadily chugging along...
Because I greatly overestimated just how much nutrients were left in the soil from last year. Plenty of nitrogen to promote plentiful vegetation, but potassium (and presumably the phosphorus) ran out quickly as soon as the pumpkins started growing. As such, I've only gotten one fruit per plant essentially, as the plants made the (correct) decision to abort any secondary fruits and focus all energies to the existing first ones.
Had to amend extra fertilizer in the form of manure and banana peels. That did the trick for now, but I'm going to add some more either on the 10th or the 15th. The first one is fairly close to finishing, but the other three have about an additional week or so to go, so we'll see.
I fucked up a little here, but now I've learned, so I'm going to be spending all winter, spring and part of summer amending the soil properly and making it bountifully rich for next July/August. Shit is going to be fuckin lit.
