As to expensive, I bought a 25l camelback for $30, a double hammock rated at 450lbs with mosquito netting for $25, DD XL tarp for $50, a $40 blizzard blanket that I wrap around the hammock like a peapod

I don't like wasting money on expensive junk, another thing to factor is the probability of theft or losing the gear so I don't like wasting a lot of money on a single item
