Hello /hgm/,
Completely new at home growing and want to try some potatoes for my quarantine project. Here are some things I've been told to do so far:
1.) Grocery potatoes are okay as long as they're organic and you wash and dry the outside.
2.) Cut the potatoes in half after cutting then plant the same potatoes in the same pot, chit facing up
3.) Use loam soil. Do not water in the first 2-3 weeks of planting (depending on the weather conditions, in my case it's a 44c Philippines)
4.) Fertilize with powdered dried banana peel
5.) Keep adding foam soil and water regularly until the sprout naturally dies
Pic related. I'm currently chatting them outside my window. Covered to prevent birds
