Instead of chemical hand warmers you can get one of these. They last last pretty much all day if you overfill it a bit. I made a necklace attached to the bag it comes with to keep it against my chest. It kinda keeps your core warm and by extension, your hands. You can also grab it anytime, but not good for keeping in your gloves while working. You may need extra catalyst to pack in them so they're hot enough.
