>>2347021Small fish you can swing over to you pretty easily by high-sticking. If it's a big fish, get the fish close, then lower your drag way down in case it runs. I have a rod holder right beside me, so I put it in the holder and then I basically reel with one hand, and hand line with the other hand. Pic related is a small bonnethead landed with a big 10 foot rod rigged with a popping cork and shrimp. This wasn't a giant, so I'm managing the rod and line with my left hand, while I free the lure with my right hand. Hopefully this helps a bit.
