Back then I was dating a girl who's dad and step father were climbing partners and quite well known climbers in the town, however her dad had been killed in a fall when she was 12. Within a year her dad's climbing partner became her stepdad, and she told me that she always thought that he got her dad killed on purpose.
When my gay buddy and I were climbing it was great, but since we split I have had the fear.
I stopped climbing a few years ago when my last climbing buddies GF started calling me, and wanting to hang out just the 2 of us. I saw the makings of a triangle and things were getting tense between my buddy and I. We talked it out, they broke up, we are still friends but I haven't climbed with him since.
