Ok this is weird. I leave a shovel (not the same one as OP has pictured btw) in a spot just like that (thick brambles and vine patch along a stonewall). It's a fairly isolated spot and so thick that it's basically inaccessible to anyone who doesn't want to get torn to shreds for no real reason.
Anyway, it's an area that you can hide things in and not worry about anyone coming near it so I leave the shovel there (slightly under an old log that's so covered in prickers, sumac, and vines that you can't even seen the log from outside the briar). I go there to bury the bottles and trash and whatever we couldn't burn when we campout.
