>>1935765>Do you continuously cruise? Usually but the canals are currently locked down. If you want to live cheaply you pretty much have to continiously cruise. You can moor anywhere along the canal for free as long as you only stay two nights. If you want to stay in one place you have to find a paid mooring which can be pretty expencive.
>How often do you leave the boat? Fairly often. I live on board but I'm not usually traveling all year long. I still have to work and the canals usually close for maintenance over the winter anyway.
>Are they difficult to drive solo? I imagine it has quite a lot of finesse to it.They are ridiculously easy to drive. Imagine a giant floating bumper car. If you hit the side of the canal you will just bounce off. If you end up grounding yourself on the river bed you have a giant pole which you use to push yourself off. The trickiest thing to do is go through locks solo, but with a bit of practice this is doable as well.
>the only problem is my height, being able to stand up is a bit of a deal breaker for me.I'm 6ft2inches. I have to duck to get through the door but can stand up normally once I am inside.
