Fished soft plastics for the first time this past weekend and I can't go back to any other type of artificial lure. I had picrel dressed on a 3/8 oz jighead and was getting more hits than anyone else on the pier. Every other cast I saw anywhere from 3-6 spanish chase after my paddletail though I only hooked up 2.
Any tips on getting more successful hits? Should I up my jighead oz/hook size? Get a different color jighead? Do a faster retrieve? Though both of the Spanish I caught were on snail's pace retrieves. They're following the paddletails 75% of the time for sure.
