>>1982866The most I do barefoot is day hikes as well. The environment and terrain I live in is harsh and it takes a while for your feet to get used to. Think hot sharp sandstone, spinifex and all sorts of biting ants and bugs.
For longer hikes I'll go barefoot when I can but will have my barefoot trail shoes on me. I swapped my hiking boots for Vivo Primus Trail SGs and absolutely love them. They wouldn't suit all terrain conditions but I've put mine through the ringer and I'm happy with their functionality and durability.
