When I pan I don't really try to pan out all the black sand but get most of it. The black sand where I live is magnetic, it come from Diorite rocks, so I get rid of it with a hard drive magnet and a plastic bag. You put the magnet in a bag, dip it in the gold/black sand, then when you pull the magnet in the bag up all the black sand sticks to it. The bag keeps the sand away from the magnet. This is what I got today, not much but for only about 5 or 6 pans it's pretty good, especially just test pans.
