The rumor is that it was due to work policies creating a hostile work environment for men, but that was from a guy whose dad works at Nintendo. It’s no secret that several people who worked to design their packs have left.
I was skeptical at first, but I saw the latest Exos (one of the few packs they make that I actually like). It has an egregious design flaw that really does support the theory that the company has no competent designers left.
The side compression straps are run over the side pockets. That doesn’t sound like much but it’s acktchually a huge deal. The side pockets on this pack are designed with a front opening, the idea being that you can more easily remove a water bottle while wearing the pack. That feature is rendered completely useless because of the side strap flaw. It’s a serious fuck up, not a little bit pick of a small feature. A major selling point of Osprey packs is the side pocket design, and on this model you can’t use it. Want your water bottle? Take off your pack and undo the compression strap.
And it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the pack; what did I miss in the 10 minutes I spent looking at it in the store?
>it’s made in China too!Fucking retarded boomer logic. They’re made in Vietnam, a country that surpassed the US in textile quality decades ago.
