>>581884I made a corral trap with chain link fencing and t-posts. The picture is not mine, but the same idea. After some fiddling around with the door, got it working perfectly. Baited it for a couple weeks with the door open, then set the trap and caught 8 in one night, then 9 in a night a month later.
The corral trap funnels the hogs down to single file, where they push the door open to get the food. Once they're in a bungee cord pulls the door shut: more hogs can still walk in, but they can't get out.
We had a game cam set up nearby and it was interesting that the mature boars would never go into the trap. Guess they figured it out after a while; I know I'm not the only one trapping in the area. Strawberry jello powder makes 'em go crazy.
It's fun shit and a sure-fire way to fill the freezer!
