A lot of folks know what wheat looks like and what bread looks like but don't know what is in between.
They literally don't even know which part of wheat is used for making bread. Now can you imagine these guys growing their own food with pre-industrial means? A scythe and flail, hell even yeast used in baking bread is so foreign to some people.
Let's say there is an ebola breakout in the US, do folks honestly think the little patches of woodland left in American can sustain 300 or even less just 50 million folks going Inna Woods?
Going alone at it is really stupid unless there is a deadly infection or zombies, in any other case agricultural living in small and moderate sized communities will be better.
