>>2503231>Sleeping matThe next As far as Sleeping set ups go, a blue walmart foam sleeping mat as pictured above is pretty good and cost 10$. You can get a blowup mattress but without putting plenty of money into it you won't get much more out of it. Stay on the Osark trail for the moment. This is essential gear by the way you get much more out of a shitty sleeping bag when you have a mat to insulate you.
>Sleeping bagIf you are up north you should buy one sleeping bag thats rated for -20 degrees. Military arctic sleeping bags do this and are 50$ on colemans surplus. If you are down south you can get yourself a 15-0 degree sleeping bag and be just fine even in the middle of the winter in the mountains. All of these sleeping bags will be really big and around 40$ , I would try for
shopgoodwill.com or walk to osarktrail down to walmart to try to find someone. Or just go for the -20 degree one and deal with it being extra hot and carrying 7 pounds.
>Compression sacksthey are great but you don't need them , but be prepared to have your shitty sleeping bag take up most of your main compartment in your bag.
20$ get one that holds 10 liters.
I'll talk about gear later
