I sprained my ankle last friday while hiking. It's nothing too serious I think but I would like to know an opinion about how much damage has been done and how long it will take to recover (in b4 someone tells me to go to the doctor, my GP is old and will probably tell me to rest for an entire month).
It basically went like this:
>9am: left home
>11am: started feeling some pressure in my right foot, blamed the laces
>12am: ate lunch, rested for a while and triple-checked my shoe laces
>1pm: resumed my hike
>2:30pm: right foot started to really hurt, picked up a stick to use as a makeshift crutch
>3pm: simply couldn't walk on that foot anymore after stopping to take a piss, called a sibling who drove me home
I could walk bare-footed just fine at home. My ankle was slightly bruised and swollen but nothing too bad. I've been applying ice to it every night since then, have avoided squats and deadlifts as per /fit/'s advice and biked on flat ground for cardio.
I did go on a short 11km hike yesterday. I felt fine except at the very end of the hike when I had to go down a very steep road and I could feel some pain.
