>>216047I prepare dehydrated menus based on minute rice, 3 minute noodles, instant mashed potatoes and couscous. Ad dried veggies, freeze dried chicken/beef, milk powder, cheese powder, butter powder and spices. Got my own dehydrator to make my own dried veggies and bring a little variety into my menus.
I pack one large dried meal for each day which supplies half my calorie intake. Then I add some dark chocolate, rye bread and hard fiskur / jerky and some trail mix as iron rations. I bring some snickers/granola bars as well and milkpowder/musli for breakfast. Also a box with tea, sugar, small bottle of olive oil, salt and habanero sauce and some chewing gums. And a pet bottle with some single malt for when you need it.
Typically I start the day with hot tea and musli, then start walking and only eat a granola bar every two hours and maybe snack on the rye bread/ hard fiskur / trail mix a couple hours later. After setting camp in the late afternoon I prepare my huge meal and eat it during the next couple hours. Alcohol only in the evening, never during the day!
I usually carry provisions for 5-7 days an send the rest to supply points, I calculate around 800g-1kg food per day, but I'm 6'7" (202cm), so I need a lot.
Pic related, my kitchen a couple days before I I went for 3 weeks solo in Iceland.
