>>1849054I guess I always figured that with deserts being so wide and open feeling, they'd lack that sense of isolation. When you can't see more than 50-100 ft because you're surrounded by tall trees, or in a small open clearing where the only thing other than the trees is the sky straight up makes it really easy to forget the rest of the world exists. I guess that could be amplified by a wide open desert, considering it goes on for so long. Personally, I'm not sure I could take the heat, plus always being surrounded by dense thick trees, I almost exclusively camp with a hammock over a tent. Maybe in the winter sometime I'll venture to the outlands and check the vibes. I even have some people in Arizona I can homecamp with while I'm away.
