Hey /out/ I love to lurk here and I practically never post but
About to be homeless in ~a week and I've basically got $400 to;
get a proper backpack
get a tent
get bus/train ticket somewhere warm enough to survive
I'm thinking a cheap tent and somewhere warm will be good, then get a decent used backpack?
Where should I go this time of year in the States to not get killed by exposure/fellow homeless? I'm 22, resourceful, somewhat intelligent, a quick learner. I can't busk and put on a show but I can work and meet people very well. I left the military just under a year ago so I'm still pretty well in shape and can generally handle myself. California seems too generic and Florida is just bad news, but I'm really just leaning towards California as being easier overall. Texas isn't out of the question, I guess. I don't have any family and I realize just up and going off like this is full dumb but it's something I've always been planning to do and only just today had a bomb dropped that's forcing me to do it.
Any advice?
