Trick for shooting into bright shit.
You've probably got a UV filter on the front of your lens. Keeps dust and scratches off the front element, easier to clean, cheap to replace, etc etc. Most of the time you can't tell its there.
But when you're shooting into something bright or with reflections, you end up with lens flare or ghosting.
Lens manufacturers go to great lengths in their design and coatings/finish to minimize these effects. Adding a filter on the front adds another element the manufacturer didn't account for, and will likely produce some flaring/ghosting, like the photo on the left.
These two pics were shot with the same settings, within seconds of each other.
Only difference is the one on the right was shot without the UV filter in place.
So if you take a pic of something and see a big purple or green glow or orb in the pic, spin off the filter on the front and try the shot again.
