I just got a bait casting combo and I have a couple questions for you bass fisherman.
1.) What kind of line should I spool my first baitcaster with? It's an Abu Garcia promax, with a MH f rod, 6'6". I mostly will target bass after work in ponds ~1-4 lbs and below. However I want to use it for muskie, walleye, and pike fishing as well. I want to put 20-30lb power pro so it can handle a pike or what not, but also not be overwhelming of a diameter for bass
2.) I have never been a big jerkbait/swimbait person, but I think that is gonna be what I work on as well as a baitcaster. What are some go to jerkbaits that will work well in a variety of conditions? Is the X rap good? Can a setup like I described fish them?
Any tips? I have always used spinning gear and finesse/ultralight approaches to every species I fish. Lately I've been pushing myself to master different species and different techniques. But its gonna be a bit before I get off the ice.
