>>1030289Every spinning reel is basically the same design. Those Gander Mtn reels supposedly aren't too bad, and they could be assmbled by Pure Fishing (Abu, Pflueger, Mitchell, ets) so with those cork handles and shit it looks nice for $40.
>>1030295Kek, I'll keep shilling. But I do better with the paddle tails if I'm using a swimbait hook and actually swimming them. For drop shots or carolina rigs, go with the split tails. But if I'm doing a Texas or Carolina rig on the bottom, I have always done better with a worm or creature bait than flukes.
>>1030329That 7' will be straight as long as it doesn't break the first time you use it. Those Blackout rods feel nice but so many people have QC issues. But if you fish from shore a lot, you might want to get used to the 7' and maybe 7'3" before going longer. Only thing I would change is going faster than 6.6:1 but it's not a big deal. Did you go right retrieve or left retrieve?
My first two casting reels were 6.4 and right hand and the 3rd one was 7.1 and left and after getting that I wish I had done the same for my first two. Whoever came up with the R/L thing on casting reels was retarded because if you grew up with spinning reels it def makes more sense to get a lefty casting reel. Otherwise you have to switch hands after you cast and cranking just feels awkward
>tfw little bro moved to Orlando today and so many little lakes and ponds around but no fishin poleI also ate my first WaWa sub today.
