The most exciting thing has been the garden giant (Stropharia rugosoannulata) mycelium that is spreading throughout the first bed of arborist wood chips (pic).
The test bed using garden giant and pine wood shavings isn't fairing as well. I got the shavings way too deep for their type. The shavings pack too well and prevent good air flow and help lock in water too far down. It may be saved if I hustle today and pull half the shavings off. I have seen some spots of mycelium, it is just struggling.
