Redgaurd here, the main reason is a fear of the "unknown", and the social acceptance hivemind often sought by others of my skin tone. While I myself love the /out/ there are plenty of people who are content staying /in/ (other redgaurds,weaboos,/out/,etc etc). Most of us are raised in an environment that tells us to be fearful of the /out/ and all its sccurry(scary) creatures (like the japanese hornet, because fuck those things).
