>>2334223Excuse me while I gearfag for a bit.
X-Mid 1. It’s non-free standing so it’s fairly light (31oz with 6 steaks). It’s super simple to set up; it’s just 4 steaks for the floor, 2 for the vestibules/doors, and two trekking poles, which can easily be inserted without getting under the fly. There are no mandatory guy lines. It has two vestibules, both of which are fairly large. The two pole design allows for more interior space; most people recommend a two person tent for backpacking (saying the space is worth the extra weight), but this design is an exception. It’s a double walled shelter, with a separate inner net and outer fly, however they can remain attached and be pitched simultaneously. Made from polyester because it’s not 1995 anymore. There are lots of nice details in its quality, like the double sided gross grain straps for the tie outs, and how the reinforcement for the pole ends is sewn into the seem rather than just onto it. It’s also breathes very well, being double walled and having two giant doors (again, because it uses two poles). Only $220 too.
10/10 probably the best tent out there. Good luck finding one, lol.
