>>2032689>You should have hamburger timed your politicians a long time ago.Yeah, I know. PA is actually loosening up some of it's game regs. I can finally buy a case beer after I go hunting on Sunday morning, lol. Seriously though, using squirrel poles and rat traps on the little furries here are met with the most resistance from actual nature Karens and imports from other states. Property owners also tend to sperg out if you trap in game lands near their homes. In fact, a lot of trappers are finding their traps stolen or being followed home, etc. I have had other trappers I have met tell me to carry and pay attention to your surroundings when checking your trap line. Thank god you no longer have to ID your traps with only your name/address anymore. I really don't talk about trapping openly because I have had people basically equate it to puppy murder. It's depressing sometimes.
>Use a bow for dispatching?Sure. The only issue is that body shots would likely have a passthrough and since I want to tan the hide and make a nice fur, I don't want holes all over the body. 1 shot to the brain with a 22LR or 22 short will do it. I guess you could use blunt tips but it isn't ideal. An arrow might glance off a skull and a lot of your animals will be caught up in brush, etc. Also, I am an archer but the last thing I want to do is carry a huge trap basket/pack with all my tools, a bow, arrows, a couple coons and normal shit. A 22 revolver is a wonderful tool. I try to carry the least amount of kit/bulk possible out there anyway.
