Some friends and I have a trip planned later in the year for a multi day hiking/camping trip in a greener patch of Nevada as well as another trip in California (We're currently in Arizona)
My dad was kind enough to give me an older external frame pack that is in excellent condition, I'm really happy that the first part of my setup is basically free
However I have no idea what to do for a tent. I work at a Wal-Mart and the tents we have are from Ozark Trail and they are about $90 tops which is great because it's only $90 but I have a feeling the quality won't be that great
On a separate note: are hammocks better than tents? I feel like the biggest thing between them is that hammocks wouldn't work unless you've got some trees to suspend it between.
Unless I'm an idiot and really don't know as much about hammocks and tents as I think I do.
Tl;dr: Suggestions for babbys first tent? Price isn't really an issue but I enjoy not breaking my bank
