>>852253That's avery broad question. Yo answer it you need to ask yourself a series of questions.
- am I competent to prevent a capsize
- am I competent to right and recover a capsized boat?
- is the venue shelter or exposed?
- what risks does the venue present?
- if i where to campsite and be unable to rescue myself what are the consequences?
I spend alot of the time paddling solo including white water. However as a coach and role model I teach that paddling solo has increased risk. This dosnt mean it should be avoided, just that the risks should be understood and mitigated. If it is not possible to mitigate the risks, don't go alone. If having a partner does not mitigate the risk, don't bother going out.
Most importantly, go out and have fun!
