>>2538379Calling seems like a good idea. I had not thought of that. I live on two acres with two elderly neighbors. Nobody else for at least a mile and one one neighbor is close. They have not minded me occasionally shooting 22, 9mm, 357, and 12ga. I am not going to shoot anything stronger than those because I do not have a proper backstop. I want to get into hunting and homesteading because I grew up with it but I lost my parents and had to move to the city with relatives. Now I want to get back into it because I have my own home and land. Unfortunately I do not have anyone to teach me how to hunt, so I have to learn on my own.
Seeing as you ate raccoon, Im assuming that its safe to feed groundhog to my animals. Obviously I have observed it long enough to see that its not sick and I will be boiling the meat for them. Is there anything else I could use the animal for? What parts do I need to toss? I was planning on tossing the organs and the leg glans.
