I have used a Northface VE25 since the 90's. It's a hell of a lot of tent but I've seen it stand up to absolutely crazy conditions and stay 100% comfy inside. It becomes Hotel Northface when I go out with people with lesser tents and the weather turns. Northface has been happy to fix the few small amounts of wear it has accumulated in its 20+ years of faithful service. I've used it on mountains and snow camping and stayed warm and cozy. Stayed dry in temperate rainforests and kept strong desert winds at bay. At 12.5lbs you can show me thousands of lighter tents and at $600 you can show me plenty of cheaper ones, but I absolutely defy you to show me a more bombproof brick shithouse of a tent.
