I guess this is it sadly. I say sadly because there are so many other awesome things that you could use. People would go WAY further if they allowed 12 items.
Close picks would include:
1 small-gauge gill net
2 lbs of GORP (raisins, chocolate, peanuts)
and/or
1/3 lbs rice / 1/3 lb sugar / 1/3 lb of salt
1 small shovel
1 ax
1 roll 3.5 lbs of 20 or 21-gauge trapping (snare) wire
This is a pretty tough list to choose only 10 items from. Pic related is one of my favorite multi-purpose tools. I think one of the guys who won in a previous season had one.
