I have a semi-/out/ job, I work in an extremely small (3 square kilometers) nature reserve that's located right on the edge of a major city in between an industrial area and a few highways. The tl;dr of why it exists is because there's a critically endangered species of wildlife that inhabits it (plus a few critically endangered species of plants) and has a very elaborate naturally occurring water system, obviously I don't wan't to get more specific than that for anonymity reasons. It's very /out/ because almost all of the reserve is completely undeveloped and in a 100% natural state and there's basically no office work to be done, it's all field work. It's not-/out/ because I'm never more than a 20 minute's hike from the microwave to cook lunch in and all "scenic views" are interrupted in the middle by 4 lane highways. Think of it as a hybrid between city life and an outdoor life.
