>>2548337Jesus Christ you belong on Reddit with your false positivity. All I'm saying the guy should adjust his expectations realistically and to his experience level. Walking every day can get gruelling, especially when your feet and legs aren't used to it. It's even worse when the supposed trail is just shitty tarmac roads with boring villages and not much to see. I've seen it here and on /trv/ before, someone comes up with an unrealistic huge plan and it flops like one or two days after if they post an update. You might say it's ''just hiking'' most most people will be utterly destroyed by even three days of constant hiking. Can you even run ten kilometers without gassing?
It's more fun to do a month long trek you know you will actually finish and gain great experience and know-how for longer trips than to take some unrealistic bullshit plan, fuck it up and drop it a week later.
>>2548353>The concerns other have raied were similiar to mine. I'm starting in april, as to not be hit with the cold temperatures too much.If you are up in the mountains, the temps will be quite low. There are refugees and plenty of places to sleep safely, but you can seriously fuck yourself if you get caught in a very cold place with no good camping spots nearby and without the right equipment. I got a friend who lives in Val Grande, every now and then some retard actually freezes to death in Italian Alps despite being less than five kilometers from civilization.
Have you considered short pilgrimages or trails? Going from Austrian Alps to Italian Alps alone is a cool enough of a trip. There's great infrastructure for it up there too. I don't know about Austrians, but Italians who live in mountains are extremely friendly and helpful. You won't find yourself without help if you get into trouble. It should be cheaper than Austria too food wise. There's always a Decathlon somewhere too if your shit breaks down.
