in the spirit of the OP, my gear goal is to pay off the Tarra before the interest-free grace period is over. I would never claim it was a sound financial decision. but psychologically it was. in 2015 I was working so much overtime that self-inflicted-gunshot-wound-to-the-head was real possibility.
I know many people who spend $1000 a year on tobacco and lottery. this tent is big enough to hold me and my boys and we go places no RV ever could.
