>>1094192What to take away is,
>Is broadcasting with a baomeme on FRS/GMRS legal?No
>Can they locate me whilst I'm broadcasting?Yes, and it gets easier if you broadcast with a higher power or for a longer period of time, and note that the Baomeme can't actually go to a low enough power to be legal on FRS
>Is the FCC constantly monitoring things? No, It's mostly individuals reporting a problem to the FCC that gets the FCC involved they then bring in mobile monitoring devices which they use to find and confiscate your setup.
>Even though it's illegal by the letter of the law what are the chances of getting reported to the FCC?Unlikely as long as you keep your power on the lowest setting and don't broadcast on frequencies that aren't open to the general public, if you fuck with police/ems/fire/military radio you'll find the FCC on you fairly swiftly, if you stuck to FRS on low power you'd probably never have an issue provided you programmed the channels correctly, to most you'd look like an FRS radio.
>so anyone who goes to a walmart and buys a 22 channel radio has to have a callsign? No, because it's not needed on the FRS frequencies however if you were to broadcast on a frequency allocated to ham's there are callsign requirements and they're somewhat stringent about it.
At the end of the day, as long as you don't interfere with people who have a legal ability to transmit on a given frequency your apt not to have issues, just keep your power as low as possible.
