You guys sound like terrified children, probably because you've never actually been outside. The world is not full of threats. You can be safe without walls, electricity, running water, and firearms in the wilderness. I can understand concealed carry in some neighborhoods at some hours. People are dangerous. But in the woods it's dead weight, and it's something unfathomable for any experienced backpacker.
