>>783551I have owned a $60 Abu Silver Max on a $40 Ugly Stik for like a year and a half and tried to use it for a bit but sorta gave up. Then around Chirstmas I spent a little more on a baitcaster setup and got bored of it quick.
But recently I discovered the bigger bass are lurking deep with the warm water, so I finally started using them after watching other dude outcast me every time with 20lb mono while I'm on a spinning reel with 15lb braid. I kinda figured out the brakes and spool tension and I'm getting better at casting, and I haven't been using my spinning reels much at all for bass fishing the past couple weeks.
I thought the $60 Silver Max would suck, but I have been doing pretty good with it. It seems more forgiving than the Revo that costs $100 more.
Oh, and TXfag, have you used that Okuma yet?
