OK faggots, I'mma end this thread right now.
THE best outdoor caliber of ALL TIME
is the humble 9mm (.22 LR is indeed a close second)
why?
>plethora of firearms chambered in it, from expensive to throwaway cheap
>more energy than a .22, better for larger game
>still fairly low energy, can be used for small game
>close to .22 in price, cheap to practice with
>legal for hunting most game, including deer
>spotless record for stopping bear attacks
>FMJ 115gr standard pressure ball ammo will go up to or over 28" of penetration in animal tissue
>wider variety of projectile options, from hollow points (which actually work in 9mm) to ball to tracers to meme boolits
>will be more likely to stop a human attacker than a .22, especially when using hollowpoints and overpressure ammo
>rimless, feeds more reliably in semi automatics
>centerfire, more reliable primers than rimfire
>cleaner burning powder, fewer cleanings needed
>larger bore, jacketed bullets, easier to clean
the list goes on.
I carry a 9mm in the woods casually. I only carry .22 when I'm small game hunting for food... and even then I still have my 9mm.
THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT
