Fiskars users never sharpen their axes. Once the blade gets too damaged to be used for anything, the axe is thrown in the garbage and they go and buy a new one. When was the last time you saw a Fiskars axe that had been resharpened? Then again, why would you sharpen an axe that can't hold an edge anyway?
It wouldn't be too expensive to temper the blades and design a thinner blade that could be sharpened with hand tools, but that would be bad business. Do you think they accidentally ended up producing axes that get dull fast and are difficult/impossible to sharpen.
