From highway 66 in Marienville PA, you want to head east on T327, Lamonaville RD. It's a dirt road and you will follow it for at least 6 miles to cross Spring Creek and there's parking (its marked on Google Maps) as Pigeon Falls. You walk 1 mile north to a beautiful campsite with a picnic table by this waterfall. You can also access this waterfall from other points - it's some sort of longer distance horse trail I think.
I'm gonna try to get out to ANF this spring and explore more. The stuff east of ANF is gorgeous as well - lot's of public land.
There's some interesting, little-used backpacking areas in Heart's Content Scenic area but I dunno where the campsites are.
The most popular backpacking trail is Minister's creek which has a view and then I think like a 7-8 mile loop around a creek and then you can extend that on the North Country trail
that has established campsites but they probably get crowded if ur going on a weekend
